I miss Idaho!

OK, I lied! I found a few more pictures from Idaho that I wanted to post. My Uncle Kevin took them and I really liked them.

Ryan, Chloe (yes we copied the name), Braden and Kennedy

The kids had lots of fun riding the four wheeler. Thanks Uncle Kevin for taking them on ride after ride and watching them all afternoon.

Fly by

OK, so this is my last Idaho post. We have been home a few weeks, but I am finally getting to the last post. While we were staying at my grandpa's house they were crop dusting the fields around his house. The last day we were there they did the field right in front of his house. It was so loud, it scared Evan to death. So we took him out to watch and get him over his fear. John explained to him that it was just like a car that was in the sky. Problem is now he calls airplanes, cars and we can't convince him otherwise.

Here's an afterthought, maybe we shouldn't have been breathing in those chemicals.

The Idaho Countryside

After about 50 tries to get a slide show of these pictures to work, I have finally given up. Therefor I will only post a few of the pictures John took while on a ride with my grandpa, dad and Ryan. My granparents have always loved going on rides and seeing the country. They have been known to just take off and end up in far away places. On this particular day they were gone about 9 hours, which could be considered short from what I hear. Anyway they saw some beautiful country. Here are a few of the pics.

This is the one room school where my grandma attended school as a girl.

Famous Potatoes!

Evan, Braden and Ryan
While in Idaho John took the kids over to my uncle Dallas's farm. They were loading some spuds to go out, so they got a tour of the spud cellar. That will make a lot of french fries.

A Virtuous Woman

On July 3rd my grandmother passed away very unexpectedly. We went to Idaho for the funeral and viewing. My grandmother was a wonderful woman and as we gathered to mourn her departure it was apparent how loved and honored she was by all who crossed paths with her. She was a very compassionate person. Always serving others, whether it be family or friend. She was always there for the important events in my life even though we lived in Colorado and she had to drive a great distance to be there. During the funeral I listened to all the wonderful attributes she had and I came away inspired to be a better person. The greatest tribute I can give my grandma is to try and live my life as she did.

FOURTH OF JULY!!!

Every fourth of July we go to the parade in Monmouth, where John grew up. It's tradition! Before the official parade begins there is a kid parade. There are kids on bikes, scooters, wagons, etc... Our kids love to decorate their bikes and wagons and ride in the parade. Here are a few pictures.

Chloe is having a really good time. "Those darn boys won't leave me alone."

The "Burton corner" where we sit and watch the parade every year.
