Spring Time?

John brought home some beautiful tulips. They were so pretty. I am getting so anxious for spring. I guess technically it is spring, but it isn't very spring like yet. We have had some warm days that get my hopes up but then it rains and is dreary again. I saw the first blooming trees of the season yesterday and all the daffodils are up, so there is hope. I love the blooming trees and flowers. I can't wait until the sun comes out and it warms up.

Trauma vs. Drama

Evan had a traumatic experience the other night. At least he was traumatized by it. But I don't know if it was that traumatic or if he is way too dramatic.

The traumatic experience:

Evan goes to the bathroom (by himself - yea!) the next thing we hear is a blood curdling scream. John rushes in to find that Evan had dropped his underwear in the toilet as he was reaching to flush. Surprisingly the toilet is stronger than I would have thought and sucked them right down.

The Drama ensued:

Evan screamed and cried. We're talking major freak out. You would have thought someone had cut his leg off. He can be ridiculously dramatic at times. He will miss his favorite "Lightening McQueen" underwear, but I think a lesson has been learned. Although he is now afraid to flush the toilet. When he does he runs out of the room as fast as he can. Funny!

Evan is 3!

Evan's birthday was last Saturday. I am a little slow posting pictures. It is so hard to believe he is three already. Time goes too quickly.

What is even scarier is that Chloe will be one on Tuesday. It is weird having two kids with birthdays so close.

Evan is such a funny kid. He has a great personality. He is a really happy kid most of the time. He is also very curious and sneaky. He loves to get into things when mom isn't looking. He is Ryan's shadow and wants to do everything his big brother does. Evan is also a good helper. He always wants to help mommy and daddy. Evan gets so excited about things. He is so fun to be around. We love you monkey.

Mischievous

This is one of Chloe's new, favorite things to do. Now that she is mobile she is getting into everything. Ryan is distraught that he now has two little munchkins getting in his stuff. How do people keep up with two kids that get into everything? This is a new one for me. Ryan was well out of this stage when Evan was born. Ahhhhh!!!

Third time is the charm!

It's official, Evan is a big boy. He is now potty trained. Yea!

It, for some reason, was way easier than I thought. Maybe I gave up too quickly in the past, although, who wouldn't when there is diarrhea involved. Basically one day and he was pee trained. Including during nap time and night time. Crazily he hasn't had one accident during the night or naps. I am so happy.

Unfortunately things didn't go as smoothly in the poop department. I think he was scared to go so he just held it in for five days. I knew there was trouble brewing when he wouldn't go and I was right. He waited until we were at the mall to let it all out. Luckily I had diapers in the diaper bag and it didn't escape the underwear so it didn't put an end to our shopping. After that he kept going twosies in his pants until yesterday. He went in the potty yesterday and he was very excited as were we. Hopefully he will continue to poop in the potty.

Overall not too bad. Glad it's over.

Two down, one to go. You're next Chloe.

For He's a Jolly Good Fellow!

Today is my husbands birthday. I just want him to know how much I love him. He is truly the best person I know. He is so considerate and non-judgemental. I am so lucky to have him in my life. Thanks for being such an awesome husband and father. We love you.

My mother-in-law emailed me a few pictures of John. Here are a couple from his very first birthday.
